Tony Saliba, Founder
SPM was founded by internationally recognized derivatives trading expert, Tony Saliba. Tony has been a pioneer and active participant in the derivatives markets for nearly 30 years. His derivatives experience spans both domestic and international proprietary trading, asset management, and electronic trading systems and solutions.
Tony began trading equity options in 1979 as an independent market maker at the Chicago Board Options Exchange ("CBOE"). Over the next decade, Tony gained extensive experience trading currencies, equities, and index contracts. In each of these markets he emerged as both a dominant and respected presence and quickly acquired a reputation as one of the top traders. Tony's trading accomplishments; most notably his success during the crash of 1987, earned him a place in the national bestseller, Market Wizards, by Jack Schwager (Published by Harper Collins Publishers, Inc., 1989).
Tony has founded a number of successful ventures in the derivative industry, including, Saliba Partners, a designated primary market maker at the CBOE; International Trading Institute, a derivatives training firm; First Traders Analytical Solutions, a technology solutions firm; and LiquidPoint, a broker dealer and technology solutions provider, offering options execution, facilitation, enhanced liquidity and potential price improvement for options customers. While not currently involved in the day‐to‐day activities of the Fund, Tony continues to provide his insights and expertise to SPM and the Fund, and serves in an advisory capacity.
Tony served on the Board of Directors of the CBOE from 1987‐1989. Tony and his family reside in Chicago, Illinois.
